11 Irish citizens and their family members are to fly back to Ireland after being evacuated from Afghanistan.
The Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney has confirmed they got on a flight out of the country over the weekend, arranged through diplomatic channels.
He says his department's colleagues in Doha are helping them ahead of their return to Ireland.
Minister Coveney says work will continue to get more people out.
"This is one of a very small number of flights that has managed to take off form Kabul airport since the airport closed.
"We've been working through diplomatic channels and with our partners to get seats on such flights for Irish citizens, and yesterday was a successful day."
