Finance jobs are the new go-to for young workers.
Average salaries of 67 thousand euro a year are attracting an increasing number of 18 - 24 year olds, with an Amárach poll finding its an industry of interest for 54 per cent of younger workers.
Patricia Callan of Financial Services Ireland says the industry has lots of choice in the types of roles on offer:
"There's a whole broad range of other skills now also in demand, particularly in the context of digital transformation to technical skills in terms of things like AI, big data, all of those sorts of things are all very important. But equally it's a service industry, so actually people who have good personalities, who like to deal with consumers etc. All of those are going to also be in demand".
