166 allegations of sexual abuse were made at one religious school in Cork between 1960 and 1990.
Allegations have been made against 50 alleged abusers at the Brothers of Lota Charity in Glanmire.
32 Cork schools were included in the scoping inquiry as over 2, 400 allegations have been made across the country.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show, Deputy Political Editor with the Irish Examiner Paul Hosford believes the level of abuse that occurred in schools is much higher than reported:
"This is just a scoping enquiry to see how widespread the problem was. It's come back with 700 pages, the idea that this is confined to even those schools in the report is probably far fetched, it probably goes as deep as every school in the country, or at least the majority of."
