A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Kyran Durnin.
He's the second person to be questioned this week over the schoolboy's disappearance.
This man was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder and has been brought to a garda station in the east of the country where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
Gardaí have also began searches at two houses in Drogheda.
This is the second arrest as part of the investigation this week - a woman in her 20s who was detained on Tuesday was released without charge yesterday.
Kyran Durnin, who would be 8, was reported missing in August but gardai believe he was killed up to two years ago.
As they have no remains, the investigation is proving challenging
Gardai are continuing to appeal for anyone with information - no matter how insignificant it may seem - to come forward.
