Of last year's figures, 23 involved bone fractures or dislocations - and 17 were open wounds.
102 were bruises, grazes or bites, and one officer received multiple injuries that were serious.
52 of last year's assaults were in Dublin, while 25 were in both Cork and the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford Garda Division.
