A 29-year-old man has appeared in court, charged with the murder of Daniel O’Sullivan.
The 32-year-old who was originally from Mallow in north Cork, was pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital after being assaulted in Youghal on Monday night.
29-year-old Reece Keogh, of North Main Street, Youghal, Co Cork appeared at Midleton District Court charged with the murder of Daniel O’Sullivan.
Det Garda John O’Donovan told the court, Keogh replied ‘Not guilty’ when the charge was put to him.
Bail cannot be granted in the District Court on a murder charge, and the accused was remanded in custody to appear before Fermoy District Court via video link on the 23rd of this month.
Defence solicitor Joseph Cuddigan, said his client is a ‘very vulnerable person’ and requested a psychiatric assessment be carried out on Keogh while in custody.
