A 33-year-old man who died after he was attacked in Cobh in County Cork will be laid to rest tomorrow.
Ian Baitson was pronounced dead a week ago and his case was formally upgraded to murder.
30-year-old Dylan Scannell of O'Rahilly Street in Cobh appeared before Midleton District Court yesterday and was charged in connection with Ian Baitson's murder.
He was remanded in custody and will appear before a sitting of Mallow District Court via video link today.
A requiem mass will be held for Ian Baitson tomorrow at 1 o clock at St.Coleman's Cathedral in Cobh followed by a cremation at the Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy.
Ian’s family thanked Arian and Liam whose "heroic efforts" kept Ian with them so they were able to say their last goodbyes.
