90% of adults are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
By the end of today, over 7 million doses will have been administered under Ireland's vaccination programme.
Yesterday, 1,292 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed - a fall of 253 on the previous day.
331 patients are in hospital with the virus - 54 of whom are being treated in intensive care.
Christine Loscher, Professor of Immunology at DCU, says presenting for a second vaccine dose is vital.
"The second doses are really particularly important.
"For those hesitant about a second dose of Astra Zeneca there is now a second dose of Pfizer available.
"For people over a certain age we're starting to see boosters, and we would encourage them to engage with the vaccination programme and maximise the effect of our vaccine wall."
