Neil speaks to Cork historian Ronnie O'Herlihy about Cork Christmas traditions. Hanging an Advent Calender, Going to Midnight Mass, Opening one present on Christmas Eve, Going for a Christmas Day swim, Using Grannies Christmas cake recipe.. Meanwhile, a few weeks back, we highlighted the story of a Lyons Club defibrillator that was vandalised near Penneys in town. Listener Nigel O' Sullivan who survived a heart attack thanks to a defib, has condemned the vandals. Kieran Egan from www.eiremed.ie heard Nigel speaking to Neil and wants to donate a defibrillator to Nigel for a venue of his choice! Delighted to hear that Christina Chalmers at 'Helping Cork's Homeless' has taken delivery of the bus we secured for her homeless charity through Kearneys Coaches! She will be selling copies of her charity single 'Lay Your Head Down' outside Brown Thomas at 10am tomorrow. Thanks to caller Billy O' Sullivan from www.cdduplication.ie who gave her 1000 free copies of the CD for sale! We speak to three year old Tomás Browne from Gurranabraher who we came across last week at Blackpool Shoppind Centre. He called into studio to have a proper chat with Neil and he also got a surprise from a special Christmas visitor. Great to have Brendan and Declan Murphy from 'The 4 of Us' in studio performing 'Mary' and a song from their new album 'Sugar Island' ahead of their gig at The Triskel this Saturday night
