The report found that the affordability gap is widening despite the rising number of home completions
Joey Sheahan (pronounced Sheehan) of MyMortages.ie told RedFM News that a new plan to tackle the cost of building, rising property prices and lack of supply is needed
"A major issue here is the overall amount of supply throughout the country, so they need to look at that in conjunction with developers, councils, banks - all the stakeholders and see what can be done. The whole planning process, everything needs to be looked at to see how can this be made more straightforward and streamlined, which ultimately will result in more supply which will alleviate the pressure on house prices"
