A horse, which was struck by a car outside the city last week, was buried in a graveyard near Blarney.
Councillor Ken O'Flynn told The Neil Prendeville Show that Council Officials thought it best to bury the animal at St Senans Cemetery in Tower - after it was found on Faggot Hill.
The animal was exhumed later that day.
Speaking on The Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM, local man Martin O'Sullivan says people are shocked:
"There are a lot of people over in Tower and Blarney upset over this. It upset myself to think that there are people like this, who would bury a horse in consecrated ground. Have a bit of respect for the people that are buried there".
