Aer Lingus passengers from Cork are stranded in Palma De Mallorca and Amsterdam after a trio of flight cancellations.

Cork Airport says a technical issue caused the cancellation of a flight from Palma De Mallorca which was due to arrive in Cork at five past one this morning.

This led to flights in and out of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport being cancelled this morning.

Laura, who is stuck in Palma De Mallorca airport, told the Neil Prendeville Show she's not sure when her family of 6 will get home:

"We got an email just to say that there was a disruption in our flight. No other email. That was two o'clock this morning that we got that email, and we've had no correspondence from Aer Lingus at all, only the fact that we're ringing them. On the other side of the phone they're just like, nope, no flights. I can't give you anything till two days time, three days time, four days time. I mean, we've been on two weeks with four children. We don't have money to stay here for another four days".

A statement from Cork Airport says: "Aer Lingus EI861 from Palma de Mallorca to Cork, which was due to arrive at 0105 this morning was cancelled due to technical reasons. As a result, Aer Lingus EI840 Cork to Amsterdam Schiphol and EI841 Amsterdam Schiphol to Cork, which were both due to operate this morning, have been cancelled due to operational reasons".
