Total Budget Package of 14 billion euro.
- Further 25% reduction in childcare costs for parents to be implemented from September 2024.
- €12 increase for anyone getting a weekly social protection payment.
- €1000 cut for free fees students, and a 33% cut in contribution fees for apprentices in higher education.
- Free schoolbooks scheme to be extended to Junior Cycle post-primary students.
- Fee waivers for school transport and State exams.
- Increase of 0.1% on all PRSI contributions from October next year.
- Extension of public transport fare reductions of 20% to the end of 2024.
- Funding for up 1,000 members of An Garda Síochana.
- A pack of cigarettes to increase by 75 cents, raising price to 16 euro 75 cents.
- Domestic tax to be introduced on e-cigarettes in next year's budget.
- Carbon tax to rise from 48.50 per tonne to €56 per tonne from 11th of October. It will lead to a 2.5 cent rise on diesel, and 2.1 cent on petrol.
- Temporary tax relief for small landlords. Rental income of €3000 disregarded at standard rates in 2024, €4000 euro in 2025, and €5000 for years 2026 and 2027.
- There is yet to be any clarification on what will happen with the 7 billion euro housing fund, other than what has already been announced through Housing For All.
