The Australian Ambassador to Ireland has defended the fact temporary visa holders are still banned from travelling.
Its Prime Minister says the borders will soon re-open, but for permanent residents only.
That means Irish people down under, on temporary working visas, can leave but won't be allowed return to Australia.
Ambassador Gary Grey agrees it's not fair, but insists it's the safest approach:
"Our approach to it, as a country, has always been heavily based in the science and the health security measures that we need to have in place. And that's why, a country with five times the population of Ireland has found itself dealing with deaths that are less than 1500 over the course of the last 18 months of this pandemic."
