Business Leaders are being asked to get involved in sleep-outs in Cork to help the homeless.

Shine A Light will take place across the country on October 11th to help raise funds for Focus Ireland.

The charity's asking bosses to sleep out at Cork City Gaol or at their workplace.

Focus Ireland spokesperson Jessie Wiesblatt says it's an important fundraiser:

"So, Shine A Light is coming up on October 11. It is a national sleep out and really what we're trying to do is create a national day of empathy and support for those experiencing homelessness. The latest figures tell us that over 14,000 people are currently accessing emergency accommodation here in Ireland. And Shine A Light is really a nice way we can come together and and, you know, I suppose, have a moment of solidarity".
