Business owners in Cork say getting rid of parking spaces to create cycle lanes will lead to a huge loss in revenue.
A new cycle lane on Broderick Street in Midleton will mean fewer parking spaces for people wishing to drive into the town.
The East Cork town was devastated by floods last October and business owners say they are reliant on customer footfall to rebuild.
Speaking to RedFM News, Sinead Moriarty of Bertelli Menswear says customers can't shop in the town if there's nowhere to park:
"It's a huge loss to me at this end of the town, Midleon is a rural town but it's the main hub in East Cork. So we get a lot of customers from Lady's Bridge, Mogeely, Cloyne. They're all the towns that come in to us but if they can't find parking, they're going to go home or they're going to keep going on to Cork. So it's a huge issue for us."
