Catherine Martin hasn't ruled out leading the Green Party in the future.

The deputy leader and Media Minister ruled herself out of the leadership contest following the resignation of Eamon Ryan this week.

It is now a two horse race between Integration Minister Roderic O'Gorman and Junior Minister Pippa Hackett.

Minister Martin says she will fully support the incoming leader:

I think, never say never and I've made it clear that it's just at this point in time, and I think it's really important as well for a woman in leadership, never true themselves out. So, who knows. But for now, I'm  absolutely committed to supporting the next leadership of the of the party to using my experience in 17 years in the green.
