Changes to Dáil constituencies will be announced this morning along with the creation of up to 21 new TDs.
The Electoral Commission will deliver its report at 8am in one of the most significant redrawing's of election areas in the history of the State.
Political Correspondent Seán Defoe explains how things might play out in Cork:
"I reckon there's probably two extra TDs for Cork as part of this redraw, possibly three at a push if some futureproofing is done.
Both city constituencies are well over the constitutional limit of one TD for every 30,000 citizens
But they only need one TD between them to fix that so it could fall to North Central or South Central with some redrawing done to bulk one of them up
Cork East is also well over the constitutional limit so there needs to be an extra county seat.
Some of the submissions to the electoral commission include moving Mallow to Cork North West and adding the extra seat there in a new constituency.
There will definitely be some playing around with constituency boundaries but two extra TDs would be enough to comfortably reach the constitutional requirements."
