Childcare providers say they're burnt out and stressed from trying to keep their businesses open.
10 buses full of preschool owners and staff from Cork have closed their doors and are on their way to protest outside the Dáil at midday.
Since 2010, the Government have paid preschool owners 69 euro per child per week as part of the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme.
The Federation of Early Childhood Providers say they need to see an increase in funding so they can pay their staff and rising cost of bills.
Speaking to RedFM News, Rowena Fischer who owns Phyll's Preschool in Bealnamorrive says every childcare provider is struggling:
"There's such enormous stress and burnout. I mean, I attended a meeting there recently and the tears, the anger, the frustration, the anxiety amongst providers, was just, I thought it was just me. And it was actually sad but reassuring at the same time to see, you know, how everybody is feeling. We're really at our wits end. I brought my husband to the meeting with me. I think he realised that, that I can run my business and that is funding is the problem."
