Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to an arson attack on the north side of the city last night.
It's reported that a petrol bomb was thrown into a house on Hillview Drive in Onslow Gardens while children were inside.
2 units from the fire service arrived at the scene close to 9PM yesterday evening and spent 45 minutes putting out the fire.
A spokesperson for Cork City Fire brigade told RedFM News that the fire was caused by arson and the children, who were all under the age of 17, escaped through the back door of the house.
There were no injuries reported and Gardaí say they have identified a suspect for the attack.
In a statement to RedFM News last night, Gardaí said:
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident of criminal damage by fire at a residential premises in the Onslow Gardens area of Cork city this evening Monday, 27th November 2023. No injuries reported."
