A coastguard rescue helicopter has airlifted a casualty to safety from the roof of Blarney Castle in Co Cork this afternoon.
It's understood they suffered a minor injury inside the medieval stronghold -- which can only be accessed by spiral stairs.
A coastguard spokesman says it was decided a helicoper rescue was the "safest method of recovery due to access issues"
Its Valentia operations centre co-ordinated the airlift by the Shannon-based Rescue 115.
