The communications regulator says it's working with Gardaí to tackle a recent rise in scam calls.
Some include people pretending to be from the Attorney General's office, Social Welfare, banks and delivery companies.
Barbara Delaney from ComReg is urging people to be wary of potential scams:
"There has been a recent upsurge in these calls, nuisance callers, or scammers or indeed recording or automated calls with a fake caller ID that entices the person to answer the call. We are aware of those. We have been working with the various different bodies, including Garda Siochána, and the Revenue Commissioners to look at this, to see what could be done."
