Concerns are still being raised about what some call a "blank cheque" for RTÉ.
It's a claim the Media Minister denies - as the government promises to deliver 725 million to the broadcaster over three years.
Commercial media outlets have complained about the move, as broadcast giants say their sector also provides public service broadcasting.
Minister Catherine Martin claims funding is also being provided to the commercial sector:
"I've actually done more for other media than any previous minister, and you know, it's the access through the sound and vision, which comes from the TV license revenue, but I've added an additional, I think it's just over 28 million on top of that in my four years as minister. But I am very cognizant of the concerns."
