Cork Chamber says it's a major disappointment that the Government has delayed a decision to provide additional state funding for the Events Centre.
The long awaited 6000 seat venue for the city wasn't on the agenda for Governments last Cabinet meeting before the summer break.
It's been 8 years since the sod was turned on the €57m project and members of Government recently said a decision was imminent.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Chamber's President Rob Horgan says the city has been promised an Events Centre for a long time:
"It's very disappointing for Cork. Like we're at the end of a term, we're going into the summer recess. We've all been promised by multiple ministers, including the Taoiseach on the floor of the Dáil stating that it was going to happen. We all know when we come back after the summer break, it'll be budget and into an election. We're the second city in the country. We need this to happen. We've been promised it for a long time."
