Cork Chamber says Government funding is the only remaining barrier to completing the Cork Event Centre.

The 6000 seat venue which will be used to host large conferences and other events has been in the works for over 8 years.

Taoiseach Simon Harris recently said he intends to bring a conclusion to the project in the coming weeks.

Speaking to RedFM News, Conor Healy of Cork Chamber says a final commitment by Government is needed:

"As is widely known, there needs to be a combination here of both state funding, as well as the private sector funding to see this project happen, and the private sector funding is committed all of the plans have been lodged. The project is ready to go. And we need now to see the final commitment by governments, to make this project happen."
