Cork city centre is becoming a no-go zone
That's according to the former president of the Cork Business Association who says the time has come for more gardai to be allocated to the city
Kevin Herlihy's remarks follow a decision by the City Council to write to the Justice Minister calling for extra manpower, resources, and funding for gardai in Cork
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show he says a tough approach is needed to clamp down on violent antisocial behaviour and the open drug use on the streets of Cork
"Cork city centre is really just becoming a no go zone now. It's really, really out of hand at the moment and something's going to have to give. The traders are up in arms now and they're talking about fighting back"
