Cork City Fire Brigade says they're helping people out of their homes and cars as a result of severe floods.
Storm Babet is causing widespread flooding across the city and county as the entire county remains under a status orange rain warning.
Cork City Fire Brigade crews are assisting a person in the Black Ash area of the city after their home was flooded and three cars got completely stuck in high water on the centre park road which is now completely impassable.
Cotter Street in the city is closed and there's heavy flooding on Trinity Bridge, South Terrace, Sawmill Street and Douglas Street.
Pope's Quay and surrounding area's are heavily flooded and motorists are advised to take extreme care on the roads after a number of collisions throughout the city this morning.
Speaking to RedFM News, Victor Shine from Cork City Fire Brigade says the conditions on the roads in the city are horrendous:
"The usual quays have water, Crews are out in the Black Ash there there's a house for the person that has a gaining attention. Centre Park Road had a couple of vehicles trapped in water. So generally around place trapped vehicles after going through floodwaters is mainly the big problem."
