Up to 1,000 people attended the most recent march organised by the Cork Palestine Solidarity Campaign who are calling on the Government to place sanctions on Israel

A "Ceasefire Now" banner was draped across the SIPTU building at Connolly Hall on Lapps Quay this afternoon

A similar banner was erected at Dublin's Liberty Hall at the start of the month

Speaking to RedFM News Adrian Kane of SIPTU says the Government needs to a take a more active role and it's important that the media focus on the atrocities in Gaza remains

"It would concern me, however, that it's slipping down the news cycle. I mean, the atrocities continue on a daily basis, but that drops down the news feed, which is concerning. But I really do believe that the overwhelming majority of people in this country want our Government to do everything that is practical to try and to stop the atrocities that are happening on a daily basis"
