A Cork hotelier says the hospitality sector has been completely overlooked in Budget 2025.

The industry didn’t see its call for a reduction in the VAT rate come to fruition in yesterday's announcement.

There will be support available for businesses such as energy credits.

Speaking to RedFM News, Owner of Cork’s Vienna Woods Hotel and President of the Irish Hotels Federation Michael Magner says it's still unclear what supports are available for businesses:

"Government who say they're pro business unfortunately have completely overlooked a complete sector of business in Ireland yesterday, and that's the hospitality sector which supports 250,000 jobs and while we hear that there may be some supports, we don't know the insights of those reports."
