More than 750 households across the county are facing even greater fuel poverty as prices look set to rise and delays continue on a scheme to insulate their properties.
County councillors have written to a number of government ministers asking them to fast-track the scheme with immediate effect.
They say many applicants have been on the waiting list for well over two years.
The Irish Examiner reports the council have written to the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications twice about 'The Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme' seeking timelines for completion of the work.
