A Cork leukemia survivor says adjusting to life after cancer can be extremely difficult.
Megan Dalton Rafferty from Togher, who was diagnosed at the age of 27, spent 10 months in isolation during treatment at CUH during the Covid pandemic in 2021.
After a long battle with leukemia, she received a bone marrow transplant in 2023 and is now adjusting to her new normal.
Speaking to RedFM News, Megan says she had to part ways with her job during treatment and is still trying to find another one:
"It was very upsetting when I did, they needed someone on site and I couldn't be there all the time. I had been working there for 4 years all the way through covid and everything with them. And then on the job search we all know how hard that is. So just trying to find the right place to go and getting back to the new normal."
