An ISPCA Inspector says if you don't have the time and resources to care for an animal then don't get one

57 year old Trevor O’Connor with an address at Close’s Road, Farranree, pleaded guilty after his Lurcher dog named Rocky was found living in a filthy garden and covered in open sores
The dog was surrendered and taken immediately for veterinary attention and was subsequently rehomed
Speaking to RedFM News Caroline Faherty says animals rely on their owners for all their needs
"If you don't have the time and the resources, do not get a pet because I feel like children, they depend on you for absolutely everything - for their food, for their comfort, for you know, for you to take them to the vet if they're not well, and it all costs money. And I feel that you see people that would go out and pay a fortune for a dog and then not bring it to a vet if something is wrong with it, we always say adopt don't shop"
