The Cork minor hurlers were crowned Munster champions last night.

The Rebels turned in an excellent performances against Waterford in Thurles, winning 1-26 to 1-15 with Jack Leahy scoring 11 points.

They now join the seniors and Under 20s in an All Ireland final - Galway or Kilkenny await in the decider on August 21st.

And minor boss Noel Furlong says both those Cork sides inspired his players.

"Watching the seniors yesterday was inspirational to all our players, and Pat Ryan with the under 20s, you can't beat that confidence of lads coming back with silverware.

"Cork's record at minor over the last 10-15 years is not where it should be, and it was up to our group this year to make sure whatever we could do to rectify that we would do it.

"We've had three good games and three good wins, and we're delighted to have the Munster cup going home."

Galway and Kilkenny will meet in the second semi final on Friday evening, and Furlong says that no matter who wins, Cork will be playing an excellent team in the All Ireland Final.

"It's a repeat of last year's final, Galway are going for our in a row and Kilkenny are after a serious Leinster campaign. On Saturday or Sunday week we'll be hoping to get another performance from our lads.

"There are three Cork teams in three All Ireland finals. They hype is going to be the hype, we can only control what's in our camp.

"We'll meet in the morning, like we always do, do a recovery session and box off tonight's game.

"We have a big big game coming up in two weeks, all of our focus and energy needs to go there immediately and that's what we'll be doing."
