Cork Port is to receive a 38 million euro grant in EU funding for further development
The grant will come from the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility which is the bloc's programme for investment in transport infrastructure.
The money will be used for phase 2 of the Ringaskiddy Port Redevelopment.
Herald Ruijters is the Deputy Director General of the EU Department for Mobility and Transport.
He explained how the funds will be spent in Cork :
"In the Port of Cork, there will be a relocation of port infrastructure, away from the city centre, to make Port operations more efficient in Cork"
