A Cork pub-group says the roll out of daily antigen testing for staff has already proved successful after identifying two positive cases.
The Reardens Group- which operates Reardens, The Oliver Plunkett, Chambers and Preachers have set up a dedicated test centre for their 200 staff on Washington Street.
Results are issued within minutes and the staff are then free to begin their shift or return home to self isolate and request a PCR test.
Speaking to RedFM News, General Manager of The Reardens Group John Styles says the initiative is already paying off.
"It's been very successful. We're after locating two cases within the business already.
"It costs something in the region of €1500 a day to run this operation, and we're looking to roll it out for the next two weeks.
"Can every facility do it? I'm not sure, but I certainly believe it's where we're going for unvaccinated people who need to enter the premises, and to not be biased against unvaccinated people as well."
