Cork and 23 other counties will come under a Status Yellow wind and rain warning, with Storm Agnes expected to make landfall tomorrow.
Met Éireann has warned of the potential for flooding and power outages.
The wind warning will affect Cork from 7am until midnight tomorrow with a rain warning in place at the same time.
Cathal Nolan from the Irish Weather Channel says the storm will worsen as the day goes on:
"Really it'll impact the southern half and eastern half of the country particularly strong through Wednesday itself when gusts up to 120 kilometers per hour in some parts, especially coastal areas, and with that, accompanied by some heavy outbreaks of rain at times as well."
