Laura Lee from Dungourney was speaking following the launch of a new podcast series that aims to improve the lives of around 9,000 people who are living with the disease in Ireland.

'MS Explored- The Podcast' is a collaboration between MS Ireland and pharmaceutical company Novartis that includes interviews with experts and people who have MS.

Speaking to RedFM News, Laura Lee says trustworthy information can take some of the fright out of a diagnosis:

"I think the MS Ireland website is a brilliant first step for people who may have been recently diagnosed, for family members who may want a little bit of supports because one thing I will always say is there's a lot of misinformation out there about MS which can be very frightening to engage with when particularly you're recently diagnosed. You just have to be quite discerning, quite careful in terms of what you engage with."
