Irish Water are to carry out works in Carrigaline over the weekend, because of some 120 wheeliebins worth of gunk which caused a blockage at the Church Road Pumping Station, disrupting normal operations.
The ragging was made up of items like wet wipes, cotton buds and sanitary products.
Irish Water say only the 3 Ps: pee, poo and paper should be flushed down the toilet.
All other items including wet wipes and other sanitary products should go in the bin - even if they are labelled as flushable.
Irish Water say the flushing of these items causes sewer blockages, the risk of flooding to homes and businesses, and the risk of wildlife-harming pollution.
