15 People Have Been Killed On Cork Roads Since The Start Of The Year

That's equal to the number of deaths in the city and county for the entire of last year and despite a three month lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

8 people travelling in a car were killed while four pedestrians, two motorcyclists and one cyclist also lost their lives.

16 year old Kimberly O'Connor was the youngest to lose her life at just 16 year of age, while the oldest was a 94 year old woman.

A woman in her 60s who was a passenger in a car and a motorcyclist in his 30s both lost their lives in separate collisions in the county yesterday afternoon.

Speaking to RedFM News, Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority says it has been a bad year for road safety in Cork:
