2 men who were arrested in connection with dissident republican activity in Cork have been released without charge.
The 2 men in their 40's were arrested on Monday evening while a forest was searched.
The operation began on Monday night when a vehicle was stopped and a man was arrested.
A second man was arrested shortly afterwards following a search of a local forest in the Carrignavar/Glenville area.
Follow up searches were carried out at 8 homes across Cork city on Tuesday by Gardaí supported by the Dog Unit and the Garda Air Support Unit.
No further arrests were made but several items were recovered and taken into evidence.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí told RedFM News:
"The two males, aged in their 40s, arrested as part of an investigation targeting dissident republican activity have since been released without charge.
A file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions."
