The new Inchydoney Road store is the German discount retailers' 25th in Cork and 151st nationwide.
The supermarket employs over 1,000 people across the city and county and says it has invested €226 million in the county since it's first store opened in Cork in 1999.
Speaking to RedFM News, Aldi Ireland's Group Managing Director, Niall O'Connor says they are delighted by the expansion:
"That's also great news for the local economy. We've created 20 new, well paid, permanent jobs adding to our team of over 1,000 colleagues across the city of Cork and county last summer. We opened our Douglas store here in Cork and we're delighted today to be adding to the store network in the country."
