24-year-old man accused of attempting to stab and slash at another man sent forward for trial

A 24-year-old man accused of attempting to stab and slash at another man in Cork city last September has been sent forward for trial to Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Aaron Bohane, of St Vincent’s Hostel in Cork city is charged with assault causing harm to the victim.

The incident happened on the 6th of September last on Oliver Plunkett Street and left the victim with serious cuts to his head, back and arms, which required surgery at Cork University hospital.

Aaron Bohane was remanded in custody in September after Gardaí objected to bail.

Cork District Court heard the DPP has now instructed Bohane be sent forward for trial.

Judge Mary Dorgan advised him of his responsibility to produce any alibis in the case and remanded him in custody until the 4th of February with consent to bail.

Defence solicitor Shane Collins Daly told the court his client has been on remand for ‘quite some time’.
