Plans to convert the former St Kevin's Hospital into housing have been put on hold due to bats breeding on the site.
The Irish Examiner report that planning permission was granted for the 265 home development in Sunday's Well last year.
Works were delayed from April until September, as one of the planning conditions was that no works could take place in roosting areas where bats would be breeding.
