27 apartments will be built on the north side of the city.
An Bord Pleanála have given the go ahead to Majestic Property Developers to build the new developments on Old Market Place and Blarney Street.
Complaints were lodged with the apartment plans because of congestion in the area, the height of the apartments and the complex being labelled as out of character with the area.
However An Bord Pleanála has upheld Cork City Councils granting of planning permission and construction will go ahead.
