Five men have been arrested in Cork city as part of a Garda operation targeting violent disorder incidents in the city on Monday.
Gardaí assisted by the Armed Support Unit conducted searches at four residential properties and seized a large quantity of weapons.
Five men, ranging in age from their late teens to twenties, have been arrested and taken to Garda Stations in the Southern Region.
One of the men has been charged and is due to appear before Cork District Court later this afternoon.
In a statement to RedFM News, Gardaí said:
"As part of an ongoing investigation into violent disorder incidents and related criminal activities that occurred in Cork city on the 6th January 2025, Gardaí conducted a search and arrest operation on Friday morning, 10th January 2025.
Gardaí from the Cork City Division assisted by the Armed Support Unit conducted searches at four residential properties in Cork over the course of the operation. A large quantity of weapons was recovered during the searches.
