570 people were in emergency accommodation in Cork and Kerry last month
Nationally 12,600 people were registered as homeless in Ireland in June - a record high.
It's an increase of 159 people on May's figures, according to the Department of Housing.
Labour Senator Annie Hoey says there must be a huge focus on housing in the upcoming budget:
"In an economy where we have government representatives boasting about having such a huge surplus - €10 billion is the number that's been bandied around - that it's really disappointing to hear that people are not feeling the benefit of that, particularly people at the bottom rung, who are now in a homeless situation and that those numbers are still going up".
