Cork Airport saw a 6% increase in passenger numbers in February compared with the same month last year.
Over 203,000 travelled through the airport while at Dublin Airport numbers by half a per cent.
The DAA previously said that the passenger cap in Dublin has a negative impact on tourism in Cork with tourists not having the option to fly into the capital city and then travel around the country.
DAA Chief Executive, Kenny Jacobs, says the country's biggest airport is an outlier among other European airports who are experiencing strong growth during the first part:
"We've done everything we can do on the planning front at this stage, we've applied for 36 million, we've applied for 40 million, but I think we could be waiting another couple of years, and Ireland can't wait another couple of years for Dublin Airport, to be able to grow."
