6 restaurants have closed their doors in Midleton in the last year.
Church Lane is the most recent restaurant to announce its closure in the East Cork town, which is still recovering after devastating floods last October.
Meanwhile, Cork was the county with the second highest number of restaurant closures over the last 12 months according to figures from the Restaurant Association of Ireland.
Speaking to RedFM News, Adrianna Hegarty from Midleton Chamber says the closures come as a huge shock to the town which has spent close to a year rebuilding itself:
"It is tough on the community because it is such a foodie town and it is such a predicament about where to go to eat for lunch, dinner and of course for tourists it's not great."
