Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded hospital in the country today.
According to the INMO's Trolley Watch, there are 74 patients on trolleys at the emergency department.
Meanwhile, there are 20 people without a bed at the Mercy University Hospital.
A report released by HIQA yesterday, following an unannounced inspection in June found that demand for emergency care at CUH far outstripped the available resources.
Inspectors highlighted the lack of patient flow at the ED with some people waiting up to 58 hours to be admitted.
Speaking to RedFM News, Colm Porter from the INMO in Cork says the overcrowding crisis at CUH must be tackled as a matter of urgency.
