He added that the issues of demand and affordability in Cork cannot be fixed by simply building apartments, and that building affordable family homes outside of the City Centre would be a better solution.
He is now urging the Minster for Finance to consider measures such as extending the Help to Buy scheme and lowering VAT rates for first time buyers in the upcoming Budget.
